The amazing benefits of having a litre of green juice every day and particularly in the morning can be endless.

Starting from clearer skin, stronger hair, lower anxiety levels, better sleep, weight loss, hormonal balancing, stress relief, more energy and my list could go on forever!

SO HOW DOES GREEN JUICE DO THIS FOR YOU? 

Our organs in our body need oxygen, proteins, minerals and other nutrients to be able to function properly. Our greens are the best source for most of our nutrients needed. Leafy greens bring in an abundance of chlorophyll that has been scientifically proven to help alkalise our PH levels, bringing in high levels of oxygen to the blood to lower toxicity levels and cleanse the blood. Leafy greens are also known to have good levels of iron, magnesium, protein, vitamin A, vitamin b, fibres and so so much more, the list of nutrients is endless! 

When you make the effort to juice your greens you are helping your body to access the amazing nutrients and absorb them at a much quicker rate. It is obvious to a lot of people that when they chew their greens they never really chew them right down to a mushy paste like texture. When we swallow our greens in chunks we are not able to break down the food to a level at which we are able to access all of the nutrients, especially the proteins because of the cellular structure of the protein found in greens.

Juicing them takes the hard work of breaking them down and digesting them and allows our body to absorb most of the nutrients and fast! This then allows our body to use the extra left over energy that usually would been required to digest, to then start working on healing and all whilst you are absorbing amazing amounts of the above nutrients. This is how green juice can help you.

When you make the juices, be sure to always put in the softer ingredients first, then the harder ones and then the leafy greens and herbs. If your produce gets clogged up in the juice put half a lemon through the juicer to clear it out.

LETTUCE LOVES PEAR

1 whole lettuce
5 pears
3 carrots
1 sweet potato
1 fennel bulb
1/2 grapefruit

SLEEP EASY

5 apples
3 celery stalks
½ cucumber
½ cup chopped fennel
1 garlic clove
1 handful of fresh mint, parsley or coriander
1 orange or 1/2 a grapefruit

Add more apple if need to bring it up to 1 litre

RELAXO THE MAXO

4 celery stalks
1 carrot
5 apples
1 cup alfalfa sprouts
1 large bunch of grapes
1 garlic clove
½ inch ginger root
1 handful mixed herbs, parsley, mint, coriander or basil
