The oil is good taken orally each day to help lose weight and calm the digestive system down by bringing in whats know as lauric acid which is known to have an anti bacterial affect and can help clear bad bacterias in the gut.
MEDJOOL DATES – These sweet tasting jewels bring to your body iron, potassium, calcium and fibre. They can help strengthen the pancreas cells and ovarian function. Packed with sugar (60-70% sugar!) they must be eaten occasionally, but not avoided all together, as they are a good source of natural sugar to consume. RAW VANILLA SLICE RECIPE
2 1/2 cups desiccated coconut
10 medjool dates pitted
1/2 tsp vanilla extract pinch of salt
2 cups raw cashews or any other plain nut (preferably soaked)
1 cup desiccated coconut
2 tbsp of honey or maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
pinch of salt
6 tbsp coconut oil
1 heaped tbsp honey or maple syrup
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Line a 20cm x 20cm cake tin with grease proof paper over hanging two of the sides to allow for easy removal
Place the BASE ingredients into a blender or food processor and blend on high until well combined and coming together.
Press the mix into the tin firmly and place in the freezer to set.
Place the cashews and coconut into your blender or food processor and blend until smooth and well combined. Add the remaining ingredients and pulse until combined. Press firmly onto your base thats setting in the freezer. Then place back in freezer.
If the coconut oil is liquid, using a fork or spoon, combine the ingredients in a cup and place in fridge for 15 to 20 minutes to thicken up. Remove from the fridge and whip the mixture with a teaspoon or fork until it is creamy like frosting. Spread the icing thinly over the slice and put back in freezer to set.
IF coconut oil is solid just whip all ingredients together to desired icing consistency.
